Graphic Identity Poster: Austin Williams

Structured Living We are the foundation upon which you will build your life.
Structured Living is my conceptual metaphor for the use of furnishings in an environment with the purpose of enhancing life's experiences by addressing basic human needs (shelter, comfort and protection). The idea for the poster grew out of other design influences in which instantly recognizable images are used, but shot an an angle that is unexpected and inviting. The use of text grew out of a book cover titled Soviet Commercial Design of the Twenties in which text extends in all directions and beyond the margins of the page. The use of vanishing lines mimic architectural drawings of objects or environments.
Structured Living strives to provide structured living environments through temporary housing for those who need a place to call home while they work on financial, emotional, spiritual or psychological challenges in their lives. Graduate students, single parents, or small families are just some of the people we have in mind. The furnishings we design are influenced by the environment, which then transforms the environments, enhancing the lives of those dwelling within and their guest. Some of the furniture is modular, offering variety of placement, function and aesthetic appreciation.
Core values are “Do unto others as you would want done to you” and “I am my brother / sister keeper”. We believe that “Everyone deserves a place to call HOME”. We see the home as the sum total of all its parts. It’s a combination of our experiences and the things we place in our homes that help to create the experiences which make our house a home. By placing in the home those things which suit our basic needs, we are creating an environment that provides a basic and strong foundation for that which we will build in our lives.
Structured Living” – We are the foundation upon which you will build your life.
